“I’ve got all the money I’ll ever need, if I die by four o’clock.” -Henry Youngman
Anyone else ever feel like this? Or just me. (wink)
Let’s face it—many of us never learned how to mange money growing up. Plus, I have found that most people don’t like to talk about their money problems, leaving the rest of us struggling (often alone with our thoughts) thinking we must be the only ones with financial stress.
If you have ever felt like this, you are not alone. You’re normal. In fact, I have been there and back myself.
Truthfully, I finally faced my money problems when I found myself with an overwhelming amount of credit card debt and I needed to dig myself out of the mess I created. It was’t easy at all. However, just like every other challenge in my life, conquering my money issue was a necessary part of my journey. Now, I am in charge of my money, and I know how to use it to create the amazing life I desire.
In order to gain new perspective, I often look at a life struggle or conflict from the bird’s eye view. There is tremendous value in stepping back, away from the immediate conflict, to see the bigger picture. This process has worked for me numerous times with relationship struggles, uncomfortable situations, unexpected life set-backs, and of course money.
Have you ever looked at your history with money from that bird’s eye view?
- Your feelings about money: guilt, anger, fear, worry, anxiety, stress
- Your patterns with money: how you spend, how you save, how you give
- Your thoughts: the script you tell yourself about money, the knee jerk thought reaction to someone who has more money than you, the reaction you have to people with less money
Have you ever wondered HOW and WHY you arrived at your current situation with money? Have you found yourself in similar financial struggles again and again? Are you interested in learning how you could do it differently, without all the stress? (And remember, I come from the belief that there are no mistakes—we are all just learning and growing.)
Awareness is always the first step towards change and transformation.
One of the things I do as a coach is help people understand the emotions and thoughts that subconsciously drive their behavior with money. We discover their money patterns and the force that motivates them. Together, we create new consciously chosen money habits, reducing stress and anxiety, so that their next life chapter feels more comfortable financially.
There are 8 different money archetypes that influence behavior.
Which money archetype are you? The innocent, victim, warrior, martyr, fool, creator artist, tyrant, or the magician?
If you are looking for a little fun, take my free money type quiz to find out which archetypes influence your behavior with money. (the link can be found on the menu bar of my website)
Always with love,
Heather
