There are victims, and then there are warriors. You know what I’m talking about. There are many of us who feel like the world and the events in our lives are working against us. We feel like everyone and everything is to blame for our misery. We live in victimhood, feeling helpless, angry and stuck. Let’s face it — we all have had moments in our lives where we have felt this way, right? I know I have. But for me, it becomes a choice as to how long we want stay feeling like victims. How long are we going to wait for someone to save us. A few hours? Days? Years? Has it become our way of life?
As victims we rely on others to save us. Others to rescue us financially, emotionally, physically and/or spiritually. We wait for someone else to do the work for us. Family, friends, government…whomever. We wait for someone else to tell us what to do or how to live.
But, the warriors know that they have to save themselves. The warriors know that they are the heroes of their own life stories. They know that they themselves must make the hard choices and decisions in order to rise up, take responsibility, and change their situations. And don’t get me wrong about help. warriors know that sometimes they need to recruit people for guidance or assistance to help them along their journeys. But that help becomes a source to empower them, not pull them down.
There are victims and warriors in all of us. Victims and warriors exist in every culture, socioeconomic group, and society. I believe we all have the ability to shift from victim to warrior, but the decision and drive must come from within. For me, the choice is crystal clear. I choose to be a warrior. I truly believe that you can be a warrior too, but you may fear taking that leap. Totally get that, and that’s why I’m here.
I coach warriors and people ready to become warriors. I coach people who are tired of feeling helpless and tired of their own bullshit. I coach warriors who realize that the life challenges and the life setbacks that they have experienced are actually opportunities for them to create and recreate their lives. They are powerful opportunities for the warriors to take responsibility for their part in the situation. They look for solutions rather than creating more problems.
So, where are my warriors? Let’s talk.
Always with love,
Heather
