It’s time to celebrate!
As the year comes to a close, it’s a wonderful time to reflect and celebrate your accomplishments. Often the years just blend into one another, but making a conscious effort to pause and look backwards allows us that moment of AWE and AH-HA to see how amazing we truly are.
Not sure about you, but upon first glance my year looks one big shit show to me—shoulder surgery, disability, a heart attack, and not much to show for it—yikes!
But here’s the scoop. We are Warriors, right? So, this is what REALLY happened this year and it’s why I’m celebrating:
-I dedicated a significant amount of time and focus to heal my shoulder properly so that now I have full range of motion and I’m no longer in pain daily.
-I worked to heal and mend a few very meaningful relationships so that I feel more connected to the people I love.
-I invested in myself and my commitment to living my most authentic life with the support of my coach, my therapist and my financial advisor.
-I’ve been juicing and I completely revamped my home with non-toxic cleaning products to support my healthy habits.
-I survived a heart attack and used that pause to re-ignite my purpose and passion.
-I created boundaries in my work and personal life in order to maintain my emotional, physical and spiritual health.
-I planned and enjoyed an amazing week in Montana with my son this summer making memories to last a lifetime.
-I got to laugh for hours with my sister as we watched my favorite comedian (I think we are still laughing).
-And I began and have been consistent with my meditation practice twice daily, bringing me clarity and focus so that I can serve others more intentionally.
I encourage you to step back and take inventory of your year during this holiday season. Find your personal areas of growth and success. Even if something seems like it was a negative, perhaps you can realize how you navigated the situation to make it a success. Remember, overcoming struggles and challenges is the win. Or maybe by not getting what you wanted, you can see how the Universe redirected your path to something/someone even better.
You are a Warrior and the hero of your personal journey. Find that narrative.
Tell the story of this year with you as the main character who accomplished amazing things. And if there is something that still feels unfinished, let the end of the year be like the cliff-hanger of a season of your favorite Netflix series. You know that you as the struggling hero will overcome the situation in the next season which begins in January. You don’t have to know how, but you must know that you will.
In life we are quick to put ourselves down. Today, I urge you to rise up and celebrate the miraculous life you have created for yourself. Your year has been a huge success, and it’s time to acknowledge that. Don’t dwell on what you want to change today—-we have all next year to focus on that (trust me, we will).
Wishing you peace, joy, health and happiness! May you find the courage to live your best and most authentic life.
With love,
Heather
