Happy New Year! It’s that time of year where anything is possible.
Fun fact—one of my favorite hobbies is caring for my indoor plants. I love everything about it. Repotting, watering, making clippings, rooting, then planting the little baby plants and watching them grow. I love my indoor garden because the beauty and growth brings me so much joy—and yes, I talk to my plants regularly. As for those little baby plants, I repot them in a pretty new white ceramic pot (I’m constantly reordering on Amazon), and I give them away just because it feels good. It’s my thing!
Anyway, I have this app on my phone that tells me what kind of soil each plant likes, how much sun, water etc. The beauty of the app is that I can see if the plant is healthy or needs a small change—perhaps a little less (or more) watering or a change in sun location.
So I’ve been thinking…what about an app for our well being?
Sure, the app might monitor our hydration, healthy food intake and sunlight, but we humans need more than that to be thriving and healthy. Our healthy thriving human app is going to have to handle a lot more input.
Many factors influence your well-being and ability to thrive:
-Your physical health
-How you handle aging
-Your career and professional life
-Your family—the family of origin and your own parenting
-Your relationships–both social and intimate
-Your money and finances
-Your personal development
-Your spiritual awareness
-And FUN and enjoyment in your life
As a trained iPEC coach, I refer to all these factors as your Wheel of Life.
When one element of your Wheel of Life is out of whack, it can impact so many other areas of your life. How many times has financial stress impacted your relationships, your physical health and what you do (or don’t do) for enjoyment? We have all been there, right? YUCK! However, we have also felt the impact of falling in love or securing a job promotion that makes everything else in our lives feel amazing.
As the new year unfolds, I encourage you to take time to sit with all aspects of your Wheel of Life. Determine which elements are amazing and which ones fall short. What do you want more of this year and what needs to be less? Take time to figure out what makes you feel alive and excited—-do more of that! And what leaves you feeling heavy and depleted—what might you need to change?
Bottom line. You get decide your year.
What would make this an amazing year for you? What could you start doing now in order to make that happen?
Anything is possible in 2024!
With love,
Heather
